Bulleting & Numbering

Bulleting & Numbering .

Whenever you want to mention a list of points, ideas or items, it is better to use bullets or numbering instead of paragraphs. Using bullets and numbering improves the clarity of your message, and makes your email more organized.

When to use BULLETS .

When the points, ideas or items of list – DO NOT have any specific rank, order or sequence.

For example:

When mentioning a list of pros and cons of something, you can just use bullets since there is no specific sequence, rank or order to them.

When to use NUMBERING.

When the points, ideas or items –┬áHAVE a specific rank, order or sequence, and/or – when you want to specify the number of points, ideas or items mentioned.

For example:

When mentioning a list of terms and conditions, you can use numbering just to specify the total number of terms and conditions, or, you can use numbering to indicate the order of importance of each term and condition.
