‘Stuck’ / ‘Struck’


S T U C K  –  Stuck –  is the past tense of ‘stick’,  it means  –  ‘to be unable to get out of a situation or position’.

S T R U C K  –  Struck  –  is the past tense of ‘strike’strike means  –   ‘to hit‘.


EXAMPLES .

Stuck (unable to get out)

He was stuck in the lift for 3 hours.

My shoe got stuck in the mud and I wasn’t able to move forward.


Struck (past tense of – strike)

This tree was struck by lightning.

I was on my usual morning walk when suddenly an idea struck my mind.
