Correct usage of – ‘did’


Whenever we use the word – ‘did’ in a sentence, the verb following ‘did’ is always in the present tense.

  • Did + verb ( present tense )
  • Did not + verb (present tense)

EXAMPLES

Correct sentence – I did not know that.

Incorrect sentence – I did not knew that.


Correct sentence – She did tell me about you.

Incorrect sentence – She did told me about you.


Correct sentence – They didn’t believe me.

Incorrect sentence – They didn’t believed me.
